Avatar Star Bailey Bass uses Curlsmith at the Oscars

Curlsmith graced the Oscars last night as Avatar Star Bailey Bass flaunted her natural curls at the 95th Academy Awards Ceremony. The actress is an advocate for hair diversity on the red carpet and is regularly seen embracing her natural curls, this time using the Curlsmith range. Bailey is an authentic fan of the brand, having used the range for several years and mentioning her favourite Curlsmith Hydro Creme Soothing Mask in a recent Vogue Feature.

Bailey's curls were styled by Celebrity Hairstylist Cassandra Normil, and these were her thoughts behind the look;

“I wanted classic style with the French roll and made it edgy by giving it a wet look. Bailey’s curls are her staple look, and it’s very important for us to bring natural textures to modern-day red carpets while paying homage to old Hollywood.”

Let’s check out the variety of products used to create this beautiful look.

Step 1- Shampoo

Hair preparation is important to any style, so Normil used the Wash & Scrub Detox Shampoo to offer a deep cleanse. Step 2- Condition

To condition, Normil opted for our Double Deep Cream Quencher to add moisture to Bailey's locks. The mouthwatering ingredients offer a deep conditioning treatment to hydrate and nourish your strands without weighing the hair down.

Step 3- Moisturise

Adding moisture is very important when it comes to curly hair, after lightly towel drying, Moisture Memory Reactivator was applied to assist with detangling and priming the hair ready for the stylers. This multi-use product also functions as a refresher to keep those curls popping on days 2 & 3.

Step 4- Style

Normil chose a combination of stylers to achieve this look, she started by sectioning the hair and applying our Bouncy Strength Volume Foam. This protein-enriched weightless foam creates volume and a soft hold whilst enhancing your hair's natural texture. She worked the foam through each section and finger-coiled it to enhance definition. 

To reinforce the curls, offer long-lasting definition, and shine, she layered Shine Gel, then diffused the curls, and styled Bailey's tresses to create the look.
