How to use
Step 1
Rub the product between your hands and apply on soaking wet hair.
Step 2
Use the “raking/praying hands method” to evenly spread the product throughout your strands.
Step 3
Select your desired styling method (scrunch/fingercurls/shingle) to enhance and define.
Step 4
Air dry or diffuse. Avoid touching your hair excessively while drying as this will create frizz. Once completely dry, scrunch to 'break the light cast' using an oil or serum to make your hair soft and bouncy.

"Strong hold gel is soo heavy for my thinner and shorter hair. Unfortunately I am limited to only fragrance free products because I am allergic to fragrance and curl smith only has one type of gel in their fragrance free line. It would be nice to see them expand more of their styling products like their lighter gel and the mouse into the fragrance free line"

"I prefer a fluffy curl with no cast but wanted a small bit of frizz control when diffusing. I gambled on gel (especially strong hold) because it’s fragrance free but I’m pleasantly surprised! I dilute a tiny tiny pea size in wet hands and smooth over wet leave in. Diffused hair is so soft and flexible without being too shiny or stiff. It’ll last me forever too."

"Truly the best gel out there. I have fragrance sensitivity and this gel not only keeps the headaches at bay but it also keeps my curls super defined yet still moisturized in a very humid, southern climate. I had a good friend try this gel when she came to visit me from out of town. She has finer, less dense, and more tightly coiled hair than mine and she was in AWE of how well this gel performed. When she got home she immediately purchased herself a bottle."

- How sticky is this formula? Is this the same as the previous fragrance free 9 hold level? I found it so sticky to detangle my curls when it was wash day and don't want to buy it again if that's the case. Or is this more similar to the previous 6 hold level but redesigned? please help! I preferred the 6 but seems like it's been discontinued.
- Hi Julie, Thanks for reaching out! Our Fragrance-Free Strong Hold Gel is the same formula as our former fragrance-free Level 9 hold gel, just in updated packaging. It does provide a strong hold, which can feel a bit firmer or stickier than our medium hold formulas. If you preferred the softer finish of the Level 6 gel, this one may feel stronger by comparison.
