Curlsmith x KNWLS at London Fashion Week: A Perfect Fusion of Fashion and Curl Care
Celebrating 40 years of London Fashion Week, Curlsmith partnered with cult fashion designer KNWLS for their highly anticipated SS25 show on Sunday, 15th September 2024. As the official hair sponsor for one of the most coveted shows on the schedule, Curlsmith brought their expertise in curl care to the forefront, ensuring the models’ hair looked effortlessly stunning while complementing the bold and edgy designs KNWLS is known for.
The Vision Behind the Hair
Renowned session stylist Claire Grech created the hair looks for the show. Staying true to the natural beauty of each model, Claire opted for light and airy styles that embraced natural textures and waves. Each look was unique, working with the model's individual hair type to achieve a natural, lived-in finish—perfectly reflecting the modern aesthetic KNWLS brings to their runway.
Claire shared her approach to the styling process, giving us an inside look on how she styled the looks:
“I started off by washing the girls hair with the Essential Moisture Cleanser, to gently clean and remove any product build up. Whilst hair was still soaking wet, I applied Curl Conditioning Oil-In-Cream to hydrate and ensure hair looked naturally healthy and in great condition.”
For models with straighter or wavy textures, Claire used Effortless Waves, spritzing it all over the hair to define natural waves with a soft, moveable hold. The hair was then diffused dry with the new Defrizzion Travel Dryer & XL Diffuser, adding volume without disturbing the natural wave pattern.
“Any models with tighter curls and coils, I twisted in some additional Curl Conditioning Oil-In-Cream along with the Curl Defining Styling Soufflé mixed with a few drops of Bonding Oil. This ensured curls were defined with a naturally hydrated finish. I then diffused until dry with the Defrizzion Travel Dryer & XL Diffuser.”
Finishing Touches for a Chic, Lived-in Look
To complete the runway-ready styles, Claire added a modern twist to the models' longer hair:
"To finish, those with longer hair, I tied a very low loop in the hair securing with a simple elastic, leaving out lots of flyaways around the hairline. I completed each look with a spritz of Flawless Finish Hairspray to fix in place”.
